Application's purpose Purpose of the ShotTheScreen is to take screenshots, automatically saving it in various graphical formats. Use ShotTheScreen if you have a need to quickly take and save a screenshot. You also can take a screenshot simply by pressing PrintScreen key on your keyboard, but after doing this you must paste this shot in some graphical editor and save it. And this way allows you to shoot only the entire screen. Using ShotTheScreen you can take a screenshots for entire screen or for it's portion, automatically saving it in the selected folder. 2. Working with ShotTheScreen When you start ShotTheScreen you'll see it's main window, in which you can make some settings: a). set path to folder in which taken screenshots will be saved. To select a folder, press button "Browse..." and choose folder from the list. You can create a new folder by pressing the according button, if necessary; b). set the first part of screenshot's file name. The second part is a number of screenshot and file's extension; c). choose graphical format in which your shots will be saved. You can select between BMP, JPEG and PNG; d). select a way the screenshots will be taken: keystroke or time interval. To set a keystroke, select a field "Keystroke" and press corresponding keys on a keyboard. While working in time-interval shooting mode you can turn the shooting timer on/off by pressing a keystroke, that can be set in a field "Timer on/off"; e). set a keystroke to show ShotTheScreen's settings window; f). set if ShotTheScreen should play a shooting sound; g). set a shooting area. Press the button "Set shooting area", put mouse cursor in a starting point of the needed area, press and hold the left mouse button and move your mouse to last point of the needed area: mouse cursor will draw a rectangle around the selected area. Release the left mouse button and this area will be selected. In the bottom of the screen are cursor coordinates, starting point's coordinates and size of the area. In a "(" and ")" are starting point's coordinates and size of previously selected area. When all neccesary settings are done press the "OK" button - on a Task Bar, near the system clock the icon of ShotTheScreen will appear, saying that the application is working. While working in time-interval shooting mode this icon changes, showing you, if shooting timer is active or not. If you wanted to shut down the program or make some settings just click this icon with right mouse button and select corresponding item from pop-up menu. If you press the "Cancel" button just after apllication's start, ShotTheScreen will shut down. But if the program's main window was opened from application's icon on Task Bar, pressing the "Cancel" button will only cancel the settings done. 3. Languages ShotTheScreen is the multilanguage application, so you can see the program's interface in various languages. Normally, program automatically selects the appropriate language, according to the operation system settings. But if not, you can change language manually: 1). go to the program's folder (for example, C:\Program Files\ShotTheScreen) and locate the file Settings.ini; 2). open this file and find there a section "Settings" (sections names are put inside the "[" and "]"); 3). if in the section "Settings" is a string, that starts with "Language=", change the ending part of this string to your language. For example, to set the english language manually, this string must be "Language=en". If a string, that starts with "Language=" does not exist, add it by your own hands; 4). save the file and restart the program. To switch the program in the language auto-select mode, just delete a string that starts with "Language=" from file Settings.ini and save this file. 4.
