PartNameCom v0.3 by Sven Haul Compares filenames by exactly matching parts of it. This is especially useful for renamed mp3 files, where e.g. the title still is the same, but at another position in the filename. I have included my plugin together with the source code. Anyone may use it as an example. Of course, as usual, no warranties implied - its not really nice code, just quick & dirty, but did the work at hand. The plugin compares as follows: - Both pathnames are stripped down to their filename component. - The extension is removed - Underscores _ and hyphens - are replaced by spaces - The cleaned filenames are tokenized into words, separated by space - The smaller number of words (=shorter filename) is compared against the bigger number of words - If more than 90% of the words in the shorter filename are present in the longer filename, the file is considered duplicate Purpose: I had a _lot_ of mp3 files, processed by various different tagging programs, translating the ID3 tags of artist, track name, album name and so on into the file name, but with vastly different methods. So, the same file might show up as "artist_album_track.mp3", "artist album_track.mp3", "track (artist).mp3" etc pp. For this purpose, the plugin works best together with the same file size filter.
